From the start point, head up the 4-wheel drive track and take the obvious marked trail to Binser Saddle. Once at the saddle pick a point to head south up the obvious steep ridge which leads to point 1753. It's fairly easy going, not too dense bush, which thins out with as you get higher. Once at point 1753, head SE along the ridge to point 1831, and then onto Mt Binser itself.

Once at Mt Binser, take in the incredible panoramic views of the Waimakariri river and beyond, then take the ridge down which heads roughly SW from the summit. At around 1300m elevation, the ridge clearly forks: stay left here, and stick to the ridge which eventually leads to a 4-wheel drive track that can be followed to the road. (Turning right at the fork just mentioned leads to a very unpleasant and slow way back to the road through thick bush and down-climbing bluffs, potentially!)

Once back to the Mt White Road, follow the undulating road back to the start.

This trail includes the peak Mount Binser.
