Johnston Hill can be accessed on the trails Makara Peak Grand Loop, Skyline - Mt Kaukau, Sanctuary Fenceline, WUU2k - 42km Route, Extended Skyline, Chartwell-Skyline Loop, Otari-Wilton's Bush Loop, Barking Mad on Barking Emu, Aro Valley - Red Rocks Thigh Buster, Southern Walkway, Polhill to Turbine loop, Park 2 Peak 2 Park, Biblical, Graveyard Shift, Swing Into Action, Trelissick Park, Mount Kaukau Loop, Johnston Hill Loop, Seeking Sanctuary, Huntleigh Park and Crow's Nest , Linking the Reserves, Te Ahumairangi Ridgeline, Mid Makara Magic, Matairangi Loop, Waimapihi Treatie, Mini Makara Mission, Full Wellington Skyline Trail , The Benbow Round, Aro Valley / Tip Track loop, Piwakawaka Track, Kaukau Bells Loop and Wellington City to Sea & Southern Walkway Loop from our trail directory.
I bagged this peak by taking a very small detour off the Skyline trail....would be a much challenging route from the streets below, but was less than 1 km out of my way on Skyline...
