Follow Reserve Road SW for 150 meters to the end. At the end of the road turn left following the trail marked "Link Track". At the top head to Reserve Road, go through the gate and left along the road to the end. At the end of the road turn left following the trail marked "Link Track". This track zig zags down the hill. Look for another blue "Link Track" sign and turn right at the junction a few meters after the sign.

At the next junction turn right and head down hill, through a grassy area, over a culvert and follow the track which turns left and up hill. At the next junction turn hard right and zig zag up the hill to the gate. Go through the gate and continue straight to the road. Turn around and zig zag back down the way you came to the base of the hill.

At the junction (where you turned hard right to go up) continue straight ahead, over a plank bridge and up the hill. Follow the trail as it climbs slightly to a signposted junction by a road end. Turn hard left and start the steep climb up some stairs and steep track. This continues through some bush and into open farmland. Follow the trail along the ridge, through a gate and back to Reserve Road.

There are is a nice section of native bush

Trail Reviews

Great Run. There are very few flat places but most of the hills are runnable as they are MTB tracks. I loved the variety of scenery, farmland, scrub, mature bush.
You definately need to pay attention to the GPX, though it is a bit off. I have suggested new trail directions and GPX to make it easier to navigate.

Like others I had trouble navigating this one, in the end I ran it in reverse and managed to figure it out.

Definitely needed GPX & instructions for the first km then real easy to follow. Lon long grass for about 500m before getting to the formed track.

Quite confusing at times but found my way. Added on a wander back into town to the garden past the Janet Frame House. Nice on tired post Kepler legs
