This is a short fun (mostly )trail loop starting at the parking spot at Poplar Reserve (access via Panorama Drive).

Starting at the Polar Reserve carpark the track gently twist up through the reserve until it splits into a 3 way fork. Taking a left the trail flattens out, widens and leads all the back to the main road on Panorama Drive. From here turn right and continue uphill (steep to start with) on the footpath. About 400m after the road starts to flatten out there is a small trail on your right (at the parking bay - there is also a bench / view point) .

This track is steep and slippery especially when wet and will lead to yet another parking area (dog park). Turn sharp right (passing over the carpark) onto a grassy single track which will follow the stream for a short distance before joining Marsden Valley Road. The track ends here and you will need to cross over onto the footpath for a couple of hundred meters until reaching the intersection with The Ridgeway.

Turn right (crossing to the other side of the Road) and follow The Ridgeway for about 600m until you reach "View Mount" on your right leading you back up the hill. At the end of the street follow the steps up to a gravel trail winding up the hill through Trees' & bush. Stay on the main trail which will join the intersection visited at the start of the run.

Turn left to go down back to the carpark at Poplar Reserve if you like end the trail here, otherwise continue back to Panorama Drive, this time do not turn right but cross the road and go straight ahead into a short Cul du Sac (30m).

At its end yet another trail starts climbing a short distance uphill until reaching a gravel path. Turn left and follow the trail to the end when it reaches a T-Section. Turn left , sign posted to Panorama Drive and follow the path downhill until it reaches the Road directly opposite of Poplar Reserve.

This loop is mostly on trails an awesome little Trail run in the middle of Stoke/ Urban area.

Trail Reviews

Not very impressed, road content is at least 40% (a bit over 2km), plus add the concrete footpaths up at down at the end. As with the others I found that the downhill zig zag trail from Panorama had an overgrown section (should have read the other reviews). Overall it was only a couple of good views that dragged this up to two stars for me.

I enjoyed the northern side of this route which offered mostly runnable climbs and shaded undulating trails for my mid summer, midday attempt. The back half with the steep road climbs, gorse detours (ignore the wee down and up on gpx at top of panorama drive and go thru a gate down to the recently graded steep road descent) and another km or more of road running.

Lovely urban running, Yes main track is close but left of the private track but I think the GPX is correct!

Do not follow gpx route at top of Panorama Drive where it does the zig zag. Private and very overgrown with gorse. Carry on a bit further to main track.
