The start of this trail is signed and easy to spot. Navigation is easy. It's a gradual and easy incline for 17km, through exposed trail, with nice views, then in natives, and then getting into the mountains a little. Then it's a big downhill along fantastic terrain, down to Maitai Dam. The last 10km is a mix of trail, then dirt road, then trail again, to get back to the start.
Note: this trail is also used for mountain biking.
Andrew Farm has carparking and public toilets, about 300m from the start of the track.
