Start at the end of town (exit point to Glenorchy) at carpark by Fernhill roundabout. Follow pathe along lake, skirting around Steamer Wharf and along the waterfront into the entrance of the garden under the WW1 monument.

Follow the well formed track around the outside (lake edge) of the gardens. When you come around to the end, turn left up the road and at the crest of the hill, re-enter the gardens.

This time you will do the top circle through the trees (watch for flying frisbees). Turn left up the path at the end, cross over the road and head diagonally towards the pond. Link up with path, turning left over the bridge between the two ponds.

You will rejoin the main path and head back down to the lakeside and back to the start.

It is obviously very beautiful any day of the year!
