This is the trail used in the Urban Trail Race, one of the 3 trail race series held around New Plymouth. The route follows the Te Henui walkway exploring both sides of the river through some beautiful bush with just a couple of road sections linking the trails together.

Trail Reviews

Good Fun run... especially for a central city run it is excellent.Note that as at March 2020; the River Trail as you head back to the beach (the left side of the river facing the sea) is closed for repairs from Cumberland to near the Cemetary. Your alternatives are to retrace your steps down the right or take a variety of temporary trails and streets. I have a GPX of that route if required - message me for it.

A fun urban trail run with a mixture of different terrain and scenery. Well worth doing.
