This run is on part of the Rotary Pathway that extends between Hastings and Napier. You could keep going and end up in Napier if you chose to. You are running on limestone trail along the top of the stopbank of the Tukitutki River. There are a couple of gates to go through to ensure cattle don't wander. They are self closing, but do make sure the close behind you. The only obstacles are cow poo and the odd cow. They are used to people so will get out of the way easily. Lovely easy run. This track is also used by walkers and cyclists.

Good parking area at the start of this point of the trail.

Trail Reviews

Nice flat run out and back from the River Rd car park. You can chose between packed limestone on top of the flood bank or the track closer to the river which is mostly stone and mud.
