The Pony Point Track. Lovely cruisey trail that winds along the harbour to Pony Point & back that gives a lot of variety in a short distance for the beginners out there. Not sure what gets my dog's attention here but he always sniffs in a different rhythm in certain places along this trail. (It's the intro to ICB if anyone's interested.) He also does the same sniffing rhythm round Butchers Dam & MTB heaven in Alex.

From the start point take the highest track (to your right) when you head through the white entranceway. This single track descends through pine trees down to Cass bay, follow on the same route as the trail narrows and undulates it's way through Corsair Bay and then up the hill to Pony point. From here head back the way you came or take the alternative steep trail back down to the foreshore then back to the start using any of the adjacent trails.

Fantastic views across the harbour and of the Port Hills pyramid to be had in good weather.

Torpedo museum at Magazine Bay
Dog swimming beach also at Magazine Bay
Swimming beaches at Cass & Corsair & a couple of other small bays

Parking as described in th start point description or at Magazine Bay, Cass Bay & Cordair Bay

Easy.

Generally good.

Windproof jacket, Gloves, Beanie/thermal headwear, Whistle, First aid kit, Extra food for emergencies, Cellphone, Map

Water available at Corsair Bay and Cass Bay car parks drinking fountains.

Clay based track so can get muddy. The narrow part up to Pony Point is prone to slips in bad weather

You can avoid the track closure at Popny Point end by taking the alternate direction track. All signposted all good

I love this run! Beautiful views, good track (nothing too technical) and great access for a swim or coffee afterwards.
