Bothamley Park has a nice wee series of trails that link the surrounding suburbia. Lots of options for extending or varying distance.

From the track entrance at Tararua Close descend to link on to the main trail. As you head along look for where the creek goes into a wee gorge, this is the Chasm Fault and is capable of delivering a significant earthquake to the Wellington region. Its a worthwhile exploration to descend into the creek and view the rocks if you are geologically inclined, its a fun wee gorge but does involve wet feet if you do it.

Back on the main trail head downstream until you find the trails that climb back up to suburbia at Sumner Ave. Return to your car via the streets that are all named after great trail destinations all around NZ, plus the quick crossing of another park area off Nelson Ave

Trail Reviews

A bit too much road for Sparkys liking but this was a friendly little trail at 9am on a weekday.
