This is a Mountain Bike Park, with shared use for mountain bikers, runners and walkers. Please use with care, always giving way to mountain bikers. Make sure you're aware and able to get out of the way, especially on the downhills. Ensure you always use the trails in the signposted directions only.
Starting at the Oropi Road car park, head into the Oropi Grove Entry Trail (northern / high end of the carpark). Follow this until you reach the Pines Climb junction, and take this, following what starts as slightly sealed foresty road, shortly turning back into single track.
You'll reach the high point with a number of trails leading off. First time round take AM - a fun fast flowy downhill. When you reach the tralis merging at the bottom, head back up to Pines Climb, this time taking PM back down - another fun downhill. Then head back up Pines Climb for a third and final time, taking Hi Fi Jumps back down - this one has a few bigger drops, likely to be a be slippery when wet!
After your three descents, take the Link Trail alongside the river until you hit the road. Turn right/downhill on the road and after a 100m or so, take the Oropi Road Exit trail on your left. This climbs up to the water tanks - once you reach these, look for the Warm Up Trail off to your left, following this back to the car park.
There is plenty more to explore in this park - this route gives you a good taste of some of the trails on offer on the east side of the river.
Toilets at the carpark (slightly hidden in the field to the left)
Plenty of parking.

Easy.
There are a number of tracks and trails in the park, so whilst it's easy to potentially take the wrong one for this exact route, all generally lead back to the same place and link up so it's hard to get lost. There is also a complete park map at the main carpark and near the bridge in the centre.
Perfect throughout.
Cellphone
There's a tap next to the toilets just off the main carpark.
Some clay areas so could be slippery when wet.
Please be thoughtful of other users and remain aware of bikers, especially on downhills. For this, it's advised not to wear headphones, so you can hear bikes coming!
Do you have a suggestion on where to go afterwards for the best coffee / cake / breakfast / brunch / beer?
