Big climbs, lakeside trails and mountain missions — there’s a reason Queenstown is such a good place to run.
Queenstown has trails heading out in just about every direction. You can cruise along the lake, climb straight from town into the hills, or head out for a much bigger day in the mountains.
There’s plenty of variety underfoot too, from smooth lakeside tracks and runnable singletrack to steep climbs, tussock-covered ridges and rougher alpine terrain. Some routes make for an easy morning run; others involve a lot more climbing and a few hours on your feet.
And when you do get up high, the combination of the lakes and the surrounding mountains makes the effort pretty worthwhile.
