Te Rua Manga (The Needle) can be accessed on the trails Raemaru Mountain and The Needle from Wigmore’s Waterfall from our trail directory.

The route to the base of the rock formation is fairly easy (although technical). There is a section of the rock you can climb, using chains and ropes, with a short exposed section. Only do so if confident and experienced, and note it can be slippery when wet, and it's generally harder coming back down than going up!
