At just over 3km and a flat walking track this is a nice easy trail but great for a leg stretch or rhythm run. Do as many laps as you like and leave your water bottle/snacks at the car to grab on the way past. It's a beautiful setting which is popular with dog walkers and families, also open for people to use the lake so you get the occasional water-skier or kayakers.

The terrain is a mix of native bush, lake side, grass & gravel path. The majority is grass or gravel that travels lake side or through native bush.

Three laps is pretty much 10k and is the basis for FKTs on this run.

Several mai-mai's dotted around, busy during duck season

Lovely flat run. Did it on a weekday as a recovery run and was super quiet. There is some tree cover around the lake but it can be hot out there.

Good one for a nice blat - nice paths and some grassy bits. Lots of midges around in Spring... so take sunnies and keep your mouth closed~

Beautiful little trail. I took Joyce's advice and used it to stretch out the legs after running the Hakarimata-Brownlee Ave Loop.

Good track to run and stretch out the legs (especially if you do Hakarimata before hand). Flat track mainly gravel. For the 'time to run' I would say Novice 30mins, Intermediate 20mins, Elite 12mins is a more fair representation. You can find the carpark with this address (or look for Lake Kainui) 421A Lake Road, Horsham Downs 3791
