This one is a little different. While we have provided a map of one possible run, the Milnthorp Reserve has a labyrinth of named trails criss-crossing the whole area of mixed old man pine, gum and native bush and you can spend a good few hours running around the many trails in the bush occasionally popping out onto the lovely Milnthorp beach or the blue clear waters of the Parapara Estaury. Run any 10k route on these trails to earn your 59 Wild Explorer Pts.

There are maps available at the carparks - grab one and get lost ..oh and look out for artwork in amongst the trees.

Keep an eye out for artwork in the reserve and Royal Spoonbills in the estaury.

There's ample parking in the carpark on Highway 60 or on the sea front in Milnthorp.

Easy.

It's a maze of trails but there are maps available at the carparks or just run around getting lost. It is safe though as it's not a huge area and is hemmed in by the sea on two sides and road on the rest.

Generally good.

Trail Reviews

Had been a few days of rain leading into this so some of the trails were a bit worse for wear (I'm looking at you, Old Master), and so was reduced to walking a couple of times. But was so much fun and could spend ages getting lost in here! I managed to get over 300m vert into my loop doing both the lookouts :)

Lots of lovely single track running which was shady on a hot day. Like the concept of running any paths to make the 10km distance. Particularly enjoyed the paths which ran alongside the water.

There is something special about Milnthorpe Park... it's like a 'pick a path book' where you can go off on your own little adventure and swap endings. Heaps of diversity on the tracks and good technical parts (if your a newbie like me). I could run round here all day, with no end of places to explore.

Wow this is magic... my route was slightly different to that mapped. There are two lookouts on the map and those combined with the climb at Aussie Rules got my vert up over 300m. But if you are looking for flowing runnable single track, you are at the right place!!!
