The lower mountain is always very muddy after rain and tracks are prone to damage after storms. The Holly Hut track can be hazardous during winter when snow/ice lies on the track.

The Ram track is signposted closed at the moment due to winter storm damage but its generally in ok condition typical of the lower mountain with some trees down on the track and one slip you need to be careful crossing.

There is also multiple slips on the route (including the large Boomerang Slip) to take care on when crossing.
