This is a multi-use track that is shared with mountain bikers. For safety reasons all users are directed to travel in a clock-wise direction. The trail is well established and users are unlikely to get lost. If someone were to get off track it would be fairly straightforward to find it again.

  • Access

    Start point is inside the Albert town DoC campground. As you turn in the driveway, take the road veering slightly right. This will lead past a toilet block to a stile and the track start.

    Parking is easy next to the track start. No public transport.

  • Staying Safe


    Generally good.

    Thermal leggings, Long-sleeved thermal top, Seam-sealed waterproof jacket, Gloves, Beanie/thermal headwear, Whistle, First aid kit, Extra food for emergencies, Cellphone, Map.

    No water on the trail.

    Track is in pretty good condition year round. Hot, dry summers and cold winters.
