Hey,

I thought this would be a short newsletter but it's packed! Read on for updates, discounts and ninjas.

Better, stronger, faster

Last year's Wild Things survey revealed that the trail directory is what members value most, so this year I'm working on massive improvements. Read about the survey results here.

The directory upgrade is bleeding into other improvements. You'll definitely see a few changes to the Wild Things website later in the year. It's exciting, I'm jiggling in my seat and not just because I played with my Hydragun last night.

I'm looking for a Wild Things ninja

All this busyness means I need hands-on help with some of the day to day running of Wild Things so I can stay focussed on the upgrade work. Are you my ninja?

I'm looking for a part time trail-running-someone who can be my administrative arms and legs—and sometimes face—behind the scenes. You'll need to be super organised, great with people and possibly also a bit bossy (because I'm not necessarily the organised one...).

Ideally you'll live in the Bay of Plenty so we can drink coffee together (and you can help process shop orders), but that's just a bonus.

If this seems like the start of an interesting idea for you, send me an email. I'd love to meet up for a coffee, real or virtual, so I can explain what I want and find out what you're good at.

Meanwhile the upgrade is going gangbusters

One of the things I'm working on right now is an overhaul of the trail directory search and results pages to make all those exciting trails and peaks more accessible. Here's what it looks like at my end. Behold, my geekery:

An epic reward just got epic-er!

Even if you enter right at the very end, all of your runs for the month will count, and remember, both are open to all VIP members!

Would you like to participate in a NZ nutrition survey for Trail Runners and Walkers?

Kia ora, I'm Tina - trail runner, NZ Registered Nutritionist and Master of Science in Nutrition student at Massey University.

As part of my master's research, I'm looking for trail runners and walkers of all experience levels to take part in this exciting study investigating how nutrition knowledge influence health and performance in trail runners and walkers in Aotearoa.

To participate you should be:

  • 16 years or older
  • Based in Aotearoa / New Zealand
  • Training for trail running/walking at least 2½ hours per week

If you meet these criteria and would like to participate, please click here to find out more information about the study and complete the online survey. The more trail runners and walkers we can get onboard the better 😊

Happy trails,

Rob
