Winter always seems to slow me down a bit.
Whether it's the weather, shorter days, or just a lack of motivation (if I'm honest, probably that 😅), I've been spending a bit more time behind the keyboard than out on the trails lately.
On the plus side, it's given me the chance to chip away at a bunch of ideas I've had sitting on my list for ages and add some genuinely useful new features to Wild Things.
Here's some of what I've been working on recently. A lot of it has been adding value for our VIP members, but there are also improvements everyone benefits from.
Save your favourite Trail Directory searches
If you've ever built the perfect set of Trail Directory filters, you can now save those searches and reopen them anytime.
It's especially handy for more complex searches that you'd otherwise have to recreate each time.
Your trail & peak notes, all in one place
You can search every private trail and peak note you've written, and jump straight back to the original trail or peak whenever you need it.
It's a much easier way to use Wild Things as your own trail journal or planning tool.
Don't have any notes yet? Start adding them next time you're planning or out exploring.
The shop is now much easier to browse
I've also given the Wild Things Shop a bit of a tidy-up.
Every product listing page now includes the same navigation, making it much easier to move between brands, categories, subcategories and Partner Brands without getting "stuck" inside one section.
We also added colour swatches to product listings, so you can preview available colours without opening the product page.
Personal Routes keeps improving
Earlier this month we introduced Personal Routes, allowing VIP members to automatically track private routes like favourite runs, rides and commutes.
Since then we've added Total Elevation to the route summaries after a suggestion from one of our members (thanks, Lisa!).
Plus a few smaller improvements...
We've also tidied up the mobile dashboard navigation to make it easier to keep up with the growing number of Trail & Peak Directory features.
Behind the scenes, I've also made a number of improvements to help keep Wild Things running faster and more reliably.
