This is a mainly flat out and back with no side trails and really no way to go wrong. It is largely flat so perfect for speedwork, but if you haven't been there before, take it slower and check out the myriad birdlife.

Amazing variety of birdlife, great lake views.

Easy.

No way you can go wrong here... when you reach the end of the formed trail, turn around!

Generally good.

Windproof jacket, Whistle, First aid kit, Cellphone, Map

A whole lake full

Great in all weather - well made and boardwalk. The occasional puddle or small patch of mud in winter

Nothing of note

Beaut little run - very scenic

Great short run, did this while visiting from out of town. Not far from Rotorua, easy access, scenic and interesting (took time to stop and read the info boards).
If your looking for another short run to add on nearby, do a lap of the Blue Lake (5k)

Great run for the whole family with convenient markers every 250 metres.
