From the carpark head down into the reserve and continue straight ahead about 1km until you reach the end of the family walk.
Go left and down the hill to the stream, then carry on up following the blue track markers. And up, and up (approx 2km) until you reach the farm fence and you'll see a wooden stile to the left. Cross that and follow the little bush track down to the road - you're at the top of the Divvy.
Retrace your steps to the stile and then continue along this fenceline until you come to another stile (over the fence).
Cross here onto the Karamu Walkway, then follow this all the way up until you reach to Old Mountain Road.
Turn right onto Old Mountain Road and follow this back down to the carpark where you started.
Good views of the windfarm, towards Raglan, Pirongia and Karioi. Retired pasture and abundant natural regeneration. Good birdlife, occasional wild goats and piglets.
Long Drop Toilet through the entrance gate towards the track start.
Parking at the Ed Hillary Hope Reserve carpark. There is no public transport, but you could take the 23 Raglan bus (from Hamilton or Raglan) to the Waitetuna Turnoff, and run from there down Old Mountain Road (approx 5Km).

Moderate.
Orange and then Blue markers in the reserve, well marked. Karamu walkway is a bit less obvious but if you follow the markers and the farm tracks along the top, pretty much, it's not too bad.
Patchy.
Long-sleeved thermal top, Seam-sealed waterproof jacket, Beanie/thermal headwear, Whistle, Extra food for emergencies, Survival blanket, Cellphone
No verified drinkable water available. There is a stream in the reserve quite early on in the loop.
Can be muddy and slidey in winter and after rain. Karamu walkway is closed for lambing approx. 1 August – 31 October.
