Description

Head off from Easby Park and following the worn track through the field. At the first fork in the gravel road, keep left before entering ‘Keith’s Walkway and Reservoir’ track.

Follow under the bridge and then pick up ‘Escalator’. Follow Escalator all the way up. This is a shared-use trail so be mindful of bikes, however being a designated climbing trail, it would be unlikely to be caught if running.

It’s a lovely gradual but runnable climb, and enters tree cover higher up. You will reach the top at around 3km.

Cross over the clearing and follow ‘Lookout’ road downhill through the trees. Instead of deviating to the right, follow the sharp downhill to the clearing at the bottom.

Careful on this as it is loose gravel and rocks and can be slippery even in the dry.

At the clearing pick up a trail signposted ‘Walkway to Valhalla Drive’ before entering ‘Allan’s Native Gully’.

You will pass through some lovely bush on a moderately technical track with roots and rocks.

Once through this, continue onto the gravel walking track that leads to Tower Road and back down to where you started.
