A few metres onto the trail you will see the sign pointing right, turn right and for the next 4.5km there are no side trails or turnoffs.

Towards the end there is a short excursion right to the lookout and then on to the finish. Great course for interesting speedwork.

Lots of Piwakawaka (fantails) and you may be lucky enough to see a Riroriro (Grey Warbler). When you get to the lookout over the estuary there is a constantly changing selection of birds on and around the water.

Some historical and environmental info as you run.

Very good size carpark with a toilet.

Nothing drinkable anywhere.

Defnitely an all weather track.
