A rare trail run on the edge of a bustling urban area, incorporating patches of native bush, open farmland, riverbanks, and a motorway! Approximately 1.8km of the loop is on a sealed shared use path beside the motorway, the rest is actual trail running with a mix of grass route, single track, gravel walkways, and old farm track.

If you know of any public toilets near the trail start or on the route, please login and then let us know so we can update this section.

Can start from multiple parking locations but the carpark at Nga Puna Wai off Augustine Drive is probably the easiest.

Trail Reviews

Tried out this loop for a Saturday 5km. It's about a third gravel road, a third paddock, and a third sealed road by the motorway. Not a bad choice for a flat loop, but quite exposed to the elements.

Enjoyable flat run loop, lots of side tracks to explore or get lost on. Took earbuds with me and the music drowned out the Motorway noise. Would make a great Park run for that side of Town, about 1.5kms from the end of the loop it can get pretty crappy depending on what is in the paddock.
Will run again.

Great if you’re wanting a short, flat loop. Nice to dust off the road shoes today.

Good to do this loop, (albeit w slight variations due to hanging w another runner - chatting not watching.. stayed on Wigram too long, got back on via aidanfield and some lovely big track.)
