This trail has a lot of sandy tracks and includes some beach running. Great training for MRU events. Beautiful coastal scenery.
From Melrose Beach carpark take the pathway south running alongside the beach - you will run along this path for around 1.5 - 2 kms until it turns into a wide trail. Follow the trail until it turns left, go down some stairs and onto a carpark.
Take the 4WD track around to the right and follow all the way down to the beach keeping to the left. Turn left onto the beach running for approximately 3 kms until you come to the next 4WD track on the left. Follow this track until reaching another carpark area and turn left up some stairs to a lookout. Follow a goat track down the hill until back onto a 4WD track heading north.
Follow the 4WD track for around 4-5 kms then turn left at Tims Thicket Rd (no signpost). Continue around the 4WD track until you reach the carpark and follow a trail to the left (through a metal fire track fence). Follow this track until you reach the original path towards the beach - turn right and follow all the way back to the carpark to the start.
Sometimes there is a coffee cart in the carpark depending on how early you go and what day of the week.

Moderate.
No markers, mostly following trails and 4WD tracks. Some running without trail or track along beach but easy to find where to turn off.
It is a loop heading south to White Hill and then loop around back north.
There is a network of tracks and taking the wrong track can be easily mistaken so recommend using GPX map or use Google maps.
Generally good.
Windproof jacket, Whistle, First aid kit, Extra food for emergencies, Survival blanket, Cellphone, Map, Snake bandage
At the start where the toilets are - recommend bringing water.
Can be very hot in summer so recommmend doing course early in the morning.
Snakes in the warmer months and the heat in summer.

Good for some nice cafe style food options and coffee
Do you have another suggestion on where to go afterwards for the best coffee / cake / breakfast / brunch / beer?
