From Neil Hawkins Park heading clockwise/north, stay on the sealed lakeside bike path as it brings you through bush sections and past an open area where a large flock of white ibis are usually hanging out.

After about 3.5km, at the north end of the lake, the path turns right and comes alongside Joondalup Drive. You have a short distance on the pavement, past a small commercial area and the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens. At the intersection with Wanneroo Road (4km), hang a right and head down Wanneroo Road.

About 1 km after the intersection, the bike path turns sharply right again and takes you through a little patch of bushland where you'll probably see some wallabies. You then run past some sports fields along Scenic Drive until at 11km you take another right down Poinciana Place.

This leads you to the south end of the lap. The path takes another couple of 90 degree right hand turns as it turns back north - just keep staying on the Lake Joondalup Circuit. Stay on the same path, which goes through a couple of picnic areas where there are water fountains if needed, until you're back where you started.
