This route takes in most of the trails in the reserve with minimal duplication.
From the walking cut-through off Indus Street, turn right and follow Ironbark Track for 200m. At the first trail intersection take the left (uphill) turn onto Acacia Track and follow this for a short but grunty uphill until you get to the Lookout. Some of this path is sealed. Take a breather and enjoy the view of the city through the trees before continuing on Acacia Track.
When you reach the trail intersection at 1.2km, turn right onto Bloodwood Track and follow it downhill. You'll cross a small stream gully and head uphill on some slightly more technical singletrack for a short hill loop.
When you've descended and crossed the stream again, this time turn right and go east, heading uphill towards Pine Mountain, which doesn't have an obvious summit but the bush opens out a little and there's a short distance of flatter terrain along the top. It doesn't last long before you're heading downhill again and looping around.
Once you've completed this loop, at the intersection take the Shirleyana Track, keeping right at the first trail junction heading towards the perimeter of the reserve. This will get you back onto Ironbark, where there's one last sting-in-the-tail uphill before you reach the cut-through where you started.
Hilly pathways through Whites Reserve, with a climb up to Whites Hill for a view through the bush over the city.
