Start at the trailhead opposite Coolum State High School. Follow the trail to the summit (very obvious and no turns required).

At the top come down a couple of hundred metres - the trail branches into two and instead of taking the same trail back down, take the left trail option and follow this until you pop out onto Havana Rd E.

Head along the road in front of the school back to the start/finish.
