Saddle Hill can be accessed on the trails Sharlands-Central Road Loop, Murderous Maungatapu and Pelorus Loop Track from our trail directory.
Follow Maungatapu Road from Maitai Dam up to Maungatapu Saddle. From Saddle Hill, an old marked route leads down to forestry roads which provides an option to loop back to Maitai Dam. It is a difficult route to follow, so if uncertain, head back to Maitai Dam via Maungatapu Saddle.
