Lion Hill can be accessed on the trail Te Waiti Track from our trail directory.

The access road is rough, narrow, windy and not for low vehicles. Best parking at Boulders campsite (4x4 recommended) or at the top of the access track to the campsite. The track to Lion Hill is poorly marked, and not distinct. The track to Te Waiiti hut has a river crossing which would be tricky after rain.

Access from Otara Rd, up the Te Waiti track to the Hut. From the stream junction approx 300m east of the hut, head up the ridge heading south west and follow up to Lion Hill. Commanding views from the top.
