About this campsite

The campground is a great spot for families with a jetty and playground. The northern facing campsites include foreshore and inland powered and unpowered sites.

Explore glow worm habitat on a short walk that extends from the campground. This walk also connect with the Link path from Picton to Havelock.

Storage sites for caravans and boats are also bookable. They are in the open with no cover. Dimensions of storage sites:

• S1 - S9: 7 metres
• S10 - S13: 10 metres
• S14: 7 metres
• S15 - S31: 9 metres

Camping is not allowed in the storage sites. 

Cabins

• Double bed with a single bed above on a metal frame. No bedding provided.
• Plugs, heating and lighting provided – no appliances.
• Parking is available outside each cabin.
• Key to be picked up from reception between 2 pm and 3 pm or from the cabin after 3 pm.

Facilities

• Hot showers for campers only. These need a $1 coin for 5 mins of hot water.
• Washing machines and driers for campers only. Coin operated
• Wheelchair accessible shower and toilet blocks.
• Communal kitchen with jug, toaster, microwave, electric hob, fridge, freezer. Bring your own BBQ, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
• Playground on the foreshore.
• Boats can be launched from the beach. The nearest boat ramp is 4 km at Ngakuta Bay.
• Boat washing facility. Boats are to be washed in this area only. It will cost a $1 coin for 5 mins of water.
• We do not give cash out on EFTPOS/Card and the nearest ATM is 25 mins away.
• We swap cash for cash only.
• Water from tap is UV treated.

Passes

The can be used at this campsite except between 26 December to 8 February inclusive.

The DOC Backcountry Hut Pass is not applicable at this campsite. 

Campsite Pass bookings must be booked online before occupying a site. If you do not book, bookings may be made by campground staff (if present) and will incur a $10 service charge. Sites may not be available if you do not book. 

Bookings

Bookings are open for stays up to 30 June 2027.

• If no availability shows online for your dates, the campsite is fully booked.
• No spaces are kept for campers arriving without a booking.
• Phone and in‑person bookings made at a visitor centre incur a $10 service fee.
• Same‑day bookings are available online until 8 pm if spaces remain.

Book well in advance for the peak period from 1 December - 28 February and for public holiday weekends.

A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.
