Legend of the Peaks is an epic combination of amazing trails through the Redwoods in Rotorua, with a festival zone that includes expo, music, food and good vibes.
Based in Rotorua—the geothermal, cultural and adventure mecca of Aotearoa New Zealand—the Legend of the Peaks festival offers running and walking events for all fitness levels.
Distances range from 2km for kids through to the 42km New Zealand Forest Marathon and the Whaka Ultra 50K, which doubles as the 2026 Athletics NZ National Ultra Championships.
