Description
Follows the Historic pack track from Punikaiki to Fox river on the West Coast. Trail is marked and fairly easy to follow. Best not to attempt after heavy rain due to swollen rivers at the Fox River end . if this is the case it would pay to do an out and back. Trail itself is 25km long and traditional west coast single track - expect mud, roots and fallen trees. It follows the river bed for a few kms but there is trail tape along the way. If you have a pick up available it's a good option to get picked up at Fox River if you do not enjoy running on the road. Its 13km to loop back along the great coast road to Punikaiki which totals for a 38km Jog.
