Description
Starting North of Mangakino village on Lake road head in to newly built Waikato river trail (opened in June 2021) section To Maraetai Power station there is a railing fence and a sign there. The track is a wide gravel track that flows beside the lake in and out of pockets of native bush extremely easy to follow Once you arrive at the give way sign where there is a road crossing that carries on to the next section of the river trail (Waipapa) turn around and head back to your car

Just north of Mangakino village on Lake road (a few hundred meters down from the Waipapa rd intersection) is a small pull off area and the entry to the trail
There is plenty of grass verge to park on if pull off area is full. Otherwise parking at the other end of the trail is fine, plenty of space there.
