From Central Renwick, head west along the main road until you get to Renwick Arms on Inkerman Street North. Follow this to the end and head left down Blicks Road for about 200m. Once you see the sign for Forrest Estate Wines, head right down the driveway, this is a nice stop off for a craft beer from Boomtown or wine from Forrest Estate. In summer there are food-carts open too. This is open to foot/bike traffic at all hours.
Follow the driveway all the way through and you'll get to Foxes Island and the Renwick Dog Park. Follow the pathway all the way along side SH6 to the Wairau River stop bank. This stretch has wine tasting at Nautilus and Wairau River wines.
Once you reach the stop bank and gravel road, follow the wine trail sign and head right. This goes for about 5km with the Wairau River on one side and vineyards on the other.
At about 9km you'll reach Giffords Road; at this point the trail heads along the road for just over 1km to Rapaura Road. Caution crossing Rapaura road, this is very busy. Once across, the wine trail path continues on Jacksons Road past Cloudy Bay and Allan Scott Wines.
Fifty metres after Allan Scott Wines, the trail turns back into a gravel track and heads away from the road along another stop bank. This takes you among the vines and farmland for a further few kms and pops of at the Ford on Old Renwick Road. Cross over the road and follow the gravel path along the river. This leads back into Renwick and completes the loop.
