From the carpark start heading around the lake, there is no trail, so follow the edge of the lake on the grass. Every now and then you have to veer left away from the lake and over a bridge (twice) but after each bridge get back over the the lakeside. Over the back of the lake there is a sealed footpath, though it's possible to mostly stay on the grass. Keep doing this right around the lake and you will eventually come back to the housing area. From here there is a bit of footpath. Follow the footpath down the left of the lagoon, over the nice wee footbridge. then follow it across the road at the Trent Pl sign, picking up the footpath behind it. Then over the next road and continue on the path, veer left at the split onto the newer footpath and you should be able to see the Lake House Restaurant and maybe even your car to the left of it. Follow your nose from here.

Nice lake views and good for speed work.

Trail Reviews

Completed 17th April 2022.

Easy and flat with nice views across the lake. Felt like more of a park run than a trail run, but still worth doing if you need something a bit tamer.

I had picked this one because I'd had a long break from running, and this was a short distance and easy flat run to start getting back into things, while still having some nice interesting scenery.

Was quite windy in places and I regretted not bringing a jacket!

Not so much a trail run (or at least off a footpath one) but nicer than a run around the block!

Pleasant amble round with the kids. Pretty lake, strange vibe in the Hood tho! More tarmac than I expected
