Start from the grassy car park, head up the main road until you reach a smaller carpark, but don’t go through the main gate that you can see, instead turn to the right and follow the path along the past the farm/sheep to enter the valley floor.
Continue along this path avoiding sheep and wet feet, hopping some boulders and coming to a steep climb up to a glorious view over the Lakes! When you reach the col, take the path to the left and head up the rocky path skirting around the edge until you reach the giant cairn and panoramic views. From here head left to follow the path along to a trig point, where you keep to the left again and continue on above Hayeswater.
You will come to a left turn which will drop you down to the lakeside, the perfect spot for a dip, before picking up the right-hand path to drop you back down to the carpark.
None
Large grass parking field with a small charge at entrance to village. You can carry on about another 1km along the road to a small parking area, however the road is very narrow and not suitable for large vehicles and the car park is often full!
