Start at the first carpark on the right off Azelia Road when entering from the southeast gate. From the carpark run south crossing Azelia Road towards a grass area which leads to the bush. You will arrive to a fence look for the wooden stile to step over.
Run straight up the wide trail until almost at the end, where you will meet another wide trail and turn right up the hill. Keep following this trail until up to the top of the hill and then when at the bottom of this hill take the left trail. If you go up the next hill to the lookout, you have gone too far. Follow this same trail around (continues to be wide trail) up the hill past the phone tower then down the hill.
When at the bottom of the hill, run left then right onto another wide trail up the hill heading towards the bush. Stay on this trail until you come to a steep hill looking ahead, go up this hill and keep going straight until you reach a single trail running near the fence line and keep going until you reach a metal fire gate. After the gate turn right down a wide path running past a big house. Keep following this trail around until you reach a trail up a rocky steep hill to the right. Climb up the hill until you reach a single trail and turn left this trail will take you over the limestone cliffs/ridge and down.
When at the end turn right onto a wide trail again and follow this track until reaching the second trail to the left, which sometimes might look a bit overgrown. Follow this trail until you reach a pylon then turn right down the hill into the forest. This single track will take you out onto a wide trail then turn left running straight through on up the hill. Follow this trail past a lookout then to another wide path, turn left and continue running down Manning Stairs heading towards the lake.
When at the lake take the path to the left and run around the lake back to the carpark.
Lake and coastal views. Azelia Ley Homestead and Museum. Wild life including black cockatoos, waterbirds, tawny frogmouth, kookaburras.
There are two public toilets one near Manning Stairs carpark and one near the lake next to the playground.
There are three carparks in Manning Park - the south east carpark is closer to the start of this trail or you can park at the Manning Stairs carpark and run down from there to the start.

Easy.
Generally good.
Seam-sealed waterproof jacket, Whistle, First aid kit, Cellphone, Snake bandage
In the park area near the toilets and carparks.
Snake bite - although bites are rare and sightings are not often, snakes live in Manning Park. They are more active in the warmer months between the months of October - April. Carry a snake bandage and mobile phone. If biten, bandage the bite, call for help and keep still as possible.
Can get hot in summer, keep hydrated, wear UV protection and avoid running in the middle of the day.
Do you have a suggestion on where to go afterwards for the best coffee / cake / breakfast / brunch / beer?
