Starting at Mount Zero Picnic area: follow the markers of the GPT trail (triangle markers on rocks, posts of trees). The day starts with a steady ascent up to Mount Stapylton (turn off for summit approx 2km - 500m side trip). Keep an eye out for markers especially on the flat rocky sections. The trail is technical underfoot and involves rock hopping.

Continue along the main GPT trail (for water there's an untreated watertank at the copper mine track junction - 7.2km).

12.6km takes you to the Barigar Hike in the campground - if you plan on camping be aware it needs to be prebooked as they have limited spaces.
