This is a great straightforward loop to explore the normal 3-day Freycinet Peninsula Circuit as a trail run.
Start from the car park, which has toilet facilities. There are signposts and route maps at the beginning of the trail.
There is a nice short track through forest after which you will reach a trail junction. Head right in the direction of Hazards Beach. This follows the trail anti-clockwise down the western peninsula, as is customary to help avoid the spread of phytophthora (root rot). Its about 5.5km through forest with glimpses of the coast. Once you reach the Hazards beach, it's 3km of running along firm sand to bring you to the junction. From here you want to head inland: the track follows a path through the forest and beach that steadily increases in elevation as you make your way towards Mount Freycinet and Mount Graham.
At about 18km there will be the turnoff to Mount Freycinet which is a 1.5km add-on. The signage is hard to miss for the turnoff. After the initial climb you will see blue signs on the path; if you look to your left you will see the signs for Mount Freycinet.
Once back on track, follow the trail over Mount Graham. From here the trail turns slightly marshy like so watch your step. Continue following the trail as you descent to Wineglass Bay. There are toilets at the Wineglass Bay campsite, follow the beach to the end and start heading back up the stairs. Following the stairs you will head towards the Wineglass Bay lookout. This is by far a more polished track as it sees the most people. Follow the track all the way to the car park.
There are toilets at the start and at the camp sites that you pass through on the run.
There is a car park at the start of the trail, it can get very full in the summer months.
