Starting at Hoop Pine Picnic Area, head northwest on the main trail paralleling the road. At the junction with Simpson Falls, cross the sealed road (Sir Samuel Griffith) and find the small trail entry at the bottom of Simpsons Road. Take this trail steeply uphill - it's quite uneven footing here and sometimes can be a bit overgrown, so take care - until you get to Maculata Track, where you turn left.

Follow Maculata, cross Sir Samuel Griffith again, onto Springybark Track. At the junction continue straight, heading downhill, crossing the bridge over the creek, and you're on Eugenia Circuit.

Take this trail (mostly uphill) until you meet Powerful Owl Trail. Turn right and head up Powerful Owl, then hang a left just before you hit the main road again and follow Litchfield Track.

This trail takes you around the mountain below the road, continuing into Mahogany Track, until you're back down at the bottom of the hill.

Follow the main trail along the bottom until you're back where you started.

At the start/finish

There is parking at Hoop Pine, as well as multiple parking lots around the picnic areas at the base of the hill
