What is cluster dextrin and why is it better?Â
Cluster Dextrin is a high-performance carbohydrate used in our Super High-Carb Drink Mix to deliver a lot of energy without wrecking your gut.
It’s a big, complex carb that breaks down slowly and evenly—kind of like a bus carrying tons of fuel in one smooth ride. Compare that to regular sugar, which is like a bunch of tiny cars. If you pack too many in at once, you get a traffic jam (aka GI distress).
Why it’s better: Cluster Dextrin gives you more calories per molecule, which means lower concentration in your gut and faster water absorption. That’s key for staying hydrated and fueled without bloating or stomach issues—especially during hard efforts or long days.
What is Super High-Carb Drink Mix for?Â
It’s built for big efforts when eating solid food gets tricky. Each serving delivers 100g of fast-absorbing carbs and 400 calories, so you can fuel long sessions or races with fewer bottles, fewer bars, and fewer GI issues. Think of it as food, in liquid form, for when you're working hard and need to keep moving
How does it work and why so many carbs?Â
We combine glucose and fructose in a 1:0.8 ratio to help your body absorb more carbs per hour, up to 100g, by using multiple transport pathways. That means more usable energy, less gut overload, and fewer bonks on big days.
How much Super High Carb drink mix do I need?Â
It depends on your effort, intensity, and what else you're eating or drinking. Start by replacing about half the calories you burn per hour (that’s usually 200–400 calories for most athletes). One 53g pouch = 200 calories. Two = 400. Not sure? Start with 1 to 1.5 pouches or 3-5 scoops in 16 oz of water and tweak from there
Can I use more than one serving in a single bottle?Â
Yep! The flexibility of the pouch format lets you go higher or lower depending on your fueling needs. You can adjust scoops to your need, 1 scoop = ~57 Calories and 15g Carb. For 200 Calorie / 50g Carb serving, that’s 3.5 scoops, 400 Calorie / 100g Carb, that's 7 scoops, you get the idea. For the packets you can mix 1, 1.5, or even 2 pouches into one bottle. Just make sure the fluid-to-carb ratio works for your gut, your sweat rate, effort and conditions.
Will this upset my stomach or feel too heavy?Â
Not if you match the calories to your needs, avoid chugging, and hydrate properly. We built this to go down smooth, with no artificial nonsense and a science-backed carb that’s easier to absorb. Start slow, practice during training, and don’t chug 400 calories all at once without sipping steadily. Your gut will thank you.
