Beautiful out and back track when using the Stratford end of Matemateongas, 14.5km / 29kms return. Track is only slight gradient for 13kms, then at track turn off rises steeply and technical for 1.5km. In dry of summer the first part is very runnable, you could expect bog sections in any wet weather. Small pocket of cell reception at start of track, and good reception at Mt Humphries area

Great views of Central Plateau mountains and Mt Taranaki. Easy out and back from Upper Mangaehu Road or as part of through trip on the Matemateaonga Track.
