Took our dog and a couple of teenagers up here in October. Great short walk, boys enjoyed the views and our dog loved rolling in the sheep poo!! DOC sign says no dogs but DOC site says dogs allowed. After checking with DOC, turns out the local trail sign is out of date and due to be replaced soon. Dogs are allowed.

Saddle Hill is one of the highest points on Banks Peninsula, with access via a DOC marked track off Bossu Road, approx 2km each way from carpark to summit, where you will find a trig. Stunning 360 degree views of Lake Ellesmere, the Southern Bays of Banks Peninsula and Canterbury Plains across to the Alps
