About this hut

This lodge is sole occupancy and locked – refer to your booking confirmation for how to obtain the access code.

It is on a river terrace on the east side of the Ōrongorongo River – wet feet are part of the adventure. .

Facilities provided:

• gas cooking hob, crockery, pots and cooking utensils
• wood heating with wet back for hot shower
• cold tap water
• flush toilet
• 14 bunk beds.

You need to bring:

• candles or torches for lighting
• matches or lighter
• toilet paper.

The fees are for up to 14 people.

1 May - 30 September

• $155 per night 

1 October - 30 April

• Weekdays: $182 per night
• Weekends: $209 per night

1 December - 29 February

• Weekdays: $244 per night
• Weekends: $280 per night

Bookings

Bookings are open for stays up to 30 June 2027.

• If no availability shows online for your dates, the lodge is fully booked.
• No spaces are kept for visitors arriving without a booking.
• Phone and in‑person bookings made at a visitor centre incur a $10 service fee.
• Same‑day bookings are available online until 8 pm if spaces remain.

The Ōrongorongo River is not safe to cross in all conditions. If the river is flooded, rising or there is rain forecast, do not attempt to cross.
