About this hut

Puketutu Hut is a privately managed, three-bunk hut located just outside the Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park boundary. Originally built by the former New Zealand Forest Service, it is now owned and maintained by a local Māori Trust. 

Please contact the local Maori Trust to request permission to visit.

A taped but overgrown trail exists, approaching up the southern ridge, heading up off the North South Track and crossing a small stream at approx -37.706796, 175.884445
