Herrick’s Hut was built in 1960 by the New Zealand Forest Service, and is maintained by volunteers. Situated at 460m altitude, the area is relatively sheltered. Herrick’s Hut is largely isolated from other tracks and huts in the Ruahine Forest Park.
There is tank water supply.
