There is a daily radio check-in and weather update to all the alpine huts in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park. This is at 6:45 pm. There are instructions in the hut that explain how the radio update is done.

Backcountry Hut Passes and Backcountry Hut Tickets cannot be used at this hut.
Bookings are open for stays from 9 November 2026 to 27 April 2027.

Your hut booking is for any bunk bed, not for a specific bunk bed – select your bunk bed on arrival.
1 May - 10 NovemberBookings are not required – first come, first served on the day of your intended hike at the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park Visitor Centre (opens at 8:30 am). They will issue you a hut ticket and register your intentions before your walk.
Arriving at the hut without purchasing a ticket first at the visitor centre may mean you can't be accommodated and have to return to the village.
