Discover the rugged beauty of the Far North at the Summit Forests Kaitaia Trail Run. With distance options of 4km, FNR Group Ltd 11.5km, and Half Marathon, there’s a challenge to suit every runner. some people join for the performance and some are keen to soak up the scenery alongside friends and whānau, this event caters to all abilities and ambitions.
Set within the expansive Te Hiku Forest, a 17,000‑hectare pine forest established to stabilise coastal sand dunes, the course offers a truly distinctive running environment. Widely spaced pine trees, open forest floors, and the cushion of pine needles underfoot combine to create an atmospheric and forgiving trail, making this a memorable and uniquely local running experience.
