Starting at the small carpark at Windy Corner on the Isle of Man Mountain Road / TT Course, head due north straight up to Mullagh Ouyr. Down the other side to cross the main road at the junction with Sulby Glen road, it's time to climb Snaefell. There's a well-formed track to the summit.

Once at the top, head back down due North East, aiming directly for Black Hut on the Mountain Road. Cross the road (carefully) and start your climb up to the turnaround point, the summit of Clagh Ouyr.

Now it's time to turn around and follow the same route back, which means another solid climb up Snaefell.

This trail includes the peak Snaefell.

Moderate.

Depending on the weather - if it's clear, navigation is fairly simple as you simply aim for the summits. However, in poor visibility, with no real formed tracks, it requires some navigational skills.

Generally good.

Long-sleeved thermal top, Whistle, First aid kit, Extra food for emergencies, Cellphone, Map
